Transportation

New for the fall in Transportation:

  • Digital Cameras and recording of voices will be on every bus. This will help when issues arise on buses.

  • Web Query will be available. What is this? Web Query will be a link on the district web site that will determine the eligibility for transportation by your home address. It will also let you know what schools attendance area you live in. All you will need to do is type in your home address. Starting 2010 this will also help with summer school boundaries for the months of April, May and June.

  • New start times for most schools. Why? The budget is facing a $3.5 million deficit for 09’-10’ school year. We are able to reduce the transportation budget $1.45 million by changing schools start times. All schools start times are on the district web site.

  • The busing tab in the student data base system (Skyward) will have transportation information uploaded from the busing system (Edulog). What does this mean? The school secretaries will have busing information on their computers. It will include Stop location; Bus number and AM pick up time. This information will be updated daily. If no busing information is available the transportation department was not given update information from the schools.

  • Global Positioning System (GPS) will be coming some time this year. What is this? GPS will enable the district to verify arrival times at every stop and schools. Additionally, it will verify the travel path used by the buses.

  • Address in Skyward will update all students. In the past Special Education students were not included in the daily down load into Edulog. This fall all addresses will be updated daily. This will require the schools secretaries to check the Special Ed tab in Skyward to verify if a student is receiving services and inform the Special Ed department of the change as well.
