Park Graduate Wins Auto Competition in South America
Park High School graduate Kieron Kohlmann took first place in the Automotive Technology/Repair Division in all of North America and South America at the WorldSkills Americas competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil last week. More than 20 countries participated in the second WorldSkills Americas competition. SkillsUSA sent 11 members of its WorldTeam along with their technical experts to test their skills and knowledge and represent the United States. The four-day competition covered six skill categories representing 48 separate skill competitions.
Kohlmann has an impressive record for winning automotive competitions. He took first place in the state and SkillsUSA Championships in 2010 in the Auto Service Technology contest, first place in the Ford AAA Contest in 2009 and first place in Greater New York Auto Dealers Contest in 2009.
Kohlmann will now go on to represent the United States in Leipzig, Germany in the Auto Service Technology competition during the biennial WorldSkills Competition. Kohlmann will compete as a member of the United States “WorldTeam.” The 42nd international event will be held next July. [read more]
